Hi, I’m Rachel.
The owner + creative director behind Simplicity in Mind. We are a floral design studio currently located in Wappingers Falls, New York.
For the last decade, I’ve been focused on creating eye-catching visual designs, starting with my work at Bloomingdales, where I had the opportunity to create displays for brands like Ralph Lauren, Free People, and more. In 2016, driven by my love of whimsical, romantic designs, I started my own vintage-inspired brand, Simplicity in Mind. I began to curate vintage-inspired clothing, accessories, and home goods. My boutiques quickly became known through out the community for the floral design elements through out the shops and storefront windows. My transition to floral design began in 2019, while feeling uninspired by the current state of the retail world + mass consumerism. I knew it was time for a change.
Thats when Simplicity in Mind Florals came to life.
My design style…
I utilize a holistic approach to create an entire vision. I truly love the organic natural beauty of flowers + foliage. From delicate, whimsical shapes to large show stopping blooms, I take the time to chose the perfect florals for my clients. I often draw inspiration for my designs from the many wildflower fields here in the Hudson Valley, NY. I absolutely love the untamed beauty. While designing, I rely on my intuition and background in visual arts along with the natural shapes and textures of the materials to guide me. I truly feel honored to be able to help my clients make their visions come to life.
